Project 2: Contextual Fit

Design by Brooke Cosenza

Contextual Analysis:

Narrative

The family I am creating starts with a recently widowed mother who is a college professor who teaches different levels of drawing and painting.  She enjoys cooking for her children and she would love to get an extra room in her home so she could paint with her two children.  The eldest child is a 17-year-old girl going into her senior year of high school.  Just like her mother she is very fond of the arts and often spends time sketching and shading after school in her room when she is home.  She often finds herself right outside her home with her compass to see what direction has the best source of light, and then sketches the sky.  The youngest child is a 15-year-old boy who loves to make music in his free time.  They often have extended family come over and stay the night, and they are in need of more space.  To all three of them, family is important, so this new family room, kitchen, and bedroom, would be where her and her two children go to spend time together.
